	  Erasmus Darvin (

on je predložio postupno evoluciju životinja i biljaka.
Erasmus Darvin
postao je Mason u čuvenoj loži Cannongate Kilwinning, No 2, Škotska.
Tyrian lodge, no 253, u gradu Derbi, 1807. ili 1808. godine. Njegov drugi sin Redžinald Darvin, postao je Mason u

"Edward Jenner - Freemason And Natural Philosopher
He maintained an active correspondence with other eminent Freemasons of the period who shared his theories and ideas; Freemasons such as
Sir Joseph Banks, a member of the Royal Somerset House and Inverness Lodge, No. 4, who served as president of the Royal Society, and
Erasmus Darwin, initiated 1754 into Lodge St. Davids, No. 36 (S.C.), who was involved with the Birmingham-based Lunar Society, a number of whose members were Freemasons.
The Royal Lodge of Faith and Friendship held a Science Select Lodge
organised by Jenner where lodge members had to produce a paper on a specific scientific subject; this Science Select Lodge was reminiscent of the Lunar Society meetings. Other lectures had taken place within masonic lodges throughout the country, such as the Old Kings Arms Lodge, No. 28, London, the lectures being intricately entwined with the lodge meeting itself.
Another example of scientific teaching taking place within lodges can be seen in the Lodge of Lights, No. 148, Warrington, which held lectures on Newtonian gravitational astronomy in 1800 and 1801.
All three lodges are still working today." (

Biographical history:
John Robison was born on 4 February 1739 in Glasgow, Scotland. He was the son of John Robison, a retired Glasgow merchant and his wife, Jean née Lawson. Robison was educated at Glasgow Grammar School until entering the University of Glasgow in 1750, receiving a Master of Arts degree in 1756. After leaving university, Robison remained in Glasgow for two years during which time he met members of the scientific community including the inventor,
James Watt (1736-1819).
....
1767 he met
Erasmus Darwin and others
associated with the Lunar Society of Birmingham. He became secretary to Admiral Knowles in 1770 and travelled with him to St. Petersburg, Russia, where the Admiral had been appointed by Catherine the Great to reform the Russian navy. Once fluent in Russian, Robison was appointed a professor of mathematics at Kronstadt University in 1772, with the rank of Colonel and a generous salary. He resigned in 1774 and returned to Scotland, where he had been elected to the chair of natural philosophy at Edinburgh University. He was elected as a foreign member of the Russian Imperial Academy of Sciences in 1800.
......
He wrote several scientific and philosophical entries which were included in the third edition of the
Encyclopaedia Britannica between 1793 and 1801. He also revised his lectures on natural philosophy with the intention of publishing them, however only one volume, covering dynamics and astronomy, was published.
He became an enthusiastic conspiracy theorist and published a book entitled
Proofs of a Conspiracy against all the Religions and Governments of Europe, carried on
in the secret meetings of Freemasons, Illuminati and Reading Societies in 1797 [Library Ref. A 80 ROB].
