There is a way that leads to life
The few that find it never die
Past mountain peaks graced white with snow
The way grows brighter as it goes

No stumbling pilgrim in the dark

The river runs beside the road
Its waters living as they flow
In liquid voice the water calls
On thirsty knees the pilgrim falls

Sometimes a shadow dark and cold
Lays like a mist across the road
But be encouraged by the sight
Where there's a shadow, there's a light

Sometimes it's good to look back down
We've come so far - we've gained such ground
But joy is not in where we've been
Joy is who's waiting at the end

The doors are locked within, or is it from, without...

Out on the doorstep lay the masses in decay
Ignore them long enough, maybe they'll go away

You think you have no lack, when you're really destitute

The flashing warning sign that you would not obey
You ran the roadblock before the danger zone
You cut the lifeline - now you're on your own

Run for cover - better get under authority

Like a lone ranger running through the night
With noone to tell you if you're wrong or right
Run for cover

You want to call the shots - you want to take control
You want to throw the dice and gamble with your soul
Taking the liberties that grace will not afford
Is He your Master, can you call Him Lord?

Why do you stand out in the rain
What do you think you have to gain
When you try in your own strength but don't prevail
The arm of flesh will always fail

Somebody said they saw her on the other side of town
Said she was smokin' weed and drinkin', probably foolin' 'round
That's too bad about Sally because she was so nice
The next time that I see that girl, I'll give her my advice

Why would she want to run away from God and all His love
And go back in that world and live so hard and rough

You know that I don't feel too bad, Sally moved away
'Cause everytime I'd look at her she set my mind astray
Now Sally was that kind of girl, I wish that she was mine
Just to know that she was there, even that was fine

There's just one thing that I don't understand
And that's the part that's the part that's rough

Why would she want to run away from God and all His love
