"Si Tu Dois Partir"
(originally by Bob Dylan)

"Sickness And Diseases"

"Sickness And Diseases"

I do hate to see a rover crippled in the stones
Now he's one step nearer to the ground
And I do hate to see a hawker broken in the bones

Sickness and diseases pull you down, pull you down
Sickness and diseases pull you down

Everybody's got the sickness, everybody's down
Running to the doctor with a pound
"Doctor, doctor, do you have a needle big enough for me?"

Sickness and diseases pull you down, pull you down
Sickness and diseases pull you down

Sickness and diseases pull you down, pull you down
Sickness and diseases pull you down

My friend Billy, well he looks so ill, his face is white as milk
Everybody runs for miles when he's in town
He's got every known disease and some without a name

Sickness and diseases pull you down, pull you down
Sickness and diseases pull you down

If you want to live to be a poor man or a prince
Pay good attention when evil times abound
Always listen to what your mother says and stay in bed at night

Sickness and diseases pull you down, pull you down
Sickness and diseases pull you down

Sickness and diseases pull you down, pull you down
Sickness and diseases pull you down

"Sir Patrick Spens"

"Sir Patrick Spens"

The King sits in Dunfirmline town, drinking of the blood-red wine
"Where can I get a steely skipper to sail this mighty boat of mine?"

Then up there spoke a bonny boy, sitting at the King's right knee
"Sir Patrick Spens is the very best seaman that ever sailed upon the sea"

The King has written a broad letter and sealed it up with his own right hand
Sending word unto Sir Patrick to come to him at his command

"An enemy then this must be who told the lie concerning me
For I was never a very good seaman, nor ever do intend to be"

"Last night I saw the new moon clear with the old moon in her hair
And that is a sign since we were born that means there'll be a deadly storm"

They had not sailed upon the deep a day, a day but barely free
When loud and boisterous blew the winds and loud and noisy blew the sea

Then up there came a mermaiden, a comb and glass all in her hand
"Here's to you my merry young men for you'll not see dry land again"

"Long may my lady stand with a lantern in her hand
Before she sees my bonny ship come sailing homeward to dry land"

Forty miles off Aberdeen, the waters fifty fathoms deep
There lies good Sir Patrick Spens with the Scots lords at his feet

"Sir William Gower"

"Sir William Gower"

I am a sailor, both stout and strong
To a goodly vessel I do belong
Well guard and anchored and well equipped
Sir William Gower and a very fine ship

Our captain in his cabin lay
When a dreadful voice to him did say
"This night with me in the deep you'll be
So prepare yourself and your company"

The sky grew dark and the sea grew still
Bold men were fearful and the air was chill
Sir William rose to meet his men
Saying "Hear me now for I'll not speak again"

"I loved my mother when she was alive
And to my sister I gave babies five
I killed my wife and her children three
So I now must face what has come for me"

"You'll lash a timber close to my side
And throw me out on the water wide
And if I swim then let me be
But if I sink then pray for me"

So we tied his head and we tied his feet
And around his middle a winding sheet
At every knot the sea did stir
Grew ready for the murderer

And then we saw his open grave
The likeness of a single wave
That swept our ship from her stern to her bow
And bore away Sir William Gower

"Six Days On The Road (Live)"

"Six Days On The Road (Live)"

Well, I pulled out of Pittsburgh down the Eastern seaboard
I got my diesel wound up and she's a-running like never before
There's a speed zone ahead all right but I can't see a cop in sight
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight
I got ten forward gears and a George Overdrive
I'm takin' little white pills and my eyes are opened wide
And I just passed a Jimmy and White, been passing everything in sight
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight
Well, the FBI is checkin' on down the line
Well, I'm a little overweight but my log books way behind
But nothing bothers me tonight, I'm gonna dodge all the scales all right
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight
Well, it seems like a month since I kissed my baby goodbye
I could have a lotta women but I'm not like some other guys
I could find me one to hold me tight but I could never make believe it's all right
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight
My rigs a little old but that don't mean she's slow
There's a good flame blowing from her smoke stack black as coal
Well, my home town's coming in sight and if you think I'm happy you're right
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

"Slip Jigs And Reels"

"Slip Jigs And Reels"

He was barely a man in his grandfather's coat
Sewn into the lining a ten shilling note
Goodbye to the family
Farewell to the shore
Till I taste good fortune you'll see me no more
Now the boat on the ocean tossed like a cork
Then one fine mornin' they sighted New York
He stood on the gangplank and breathed in the air
A lowland aplenty I've come for my share

And he did like the ladies, their eyes and the fall
Of their ankles and dresses down on the dance floor
Rollin' the dice, and spinnin' the wheels
But he took most delight in the slip jigs and reels

There's talk of a pistol, and some say a knife
But all have agreed there was somebody's wife
Dreadful commotion, a terrible fight
He left a man dead and ran into the night
On a train to St Louis, just one jump ahead
He slept one eye open, a sixgun in bed
He dreamt of the mountains and great fields of home
Crossing the plain where the buffalo roam

A bad reputation's a hard thing to bear
Mothers pour scorn, and children they stare
So he found consolation in flash company
Things ain't so bad with a girl on each knee
Oh, they called him The Kid, and by 21
All that he knew was the power of the gun
And by 23, he'd shot 5 men down
That got in his way as he rambled around

There's bones on the desert and buzzards that fly
In the highest of circles, just wishing he'd die
But in manners of cruelty, it must be said
A landlord will pick your bones before you're dead
It was wild mescaleros I heard someone say
In the deadliest ambush near old Santa Fe
And the young buck was taken, dressed in a coat
And inside the lining a ten shilling note

Just a roll, just a roll
Just a roll on your drum
Just a roll, just a roll
And the war has begun

Now the right things, the wrong things
No more excuses to come
Just one step at a time
And the war has begun

Just a roll, just a roll
Just a roll on your drum
Just a roll, just a roll
And the war has begun

She's run away, she's run away
And she ran so bitterly
Now call to your colours, friend
Don't you call to me

Just a roll, just a roll
Just a roll on your drum
Just a roll, just a roll
And the war has begun

Don't you cry, don't you cry
Don't you cry upon the sea
Don't you cry, don't you cry
For your lady and me

Just a roll, just a roll
Just a roll on your drum
Just a roll, just a roll
And the war has begun
Just a roll, just a roll
Just a roll on your drum
Just a roll, just a roll
And the war has begun

"Some Sweet Day"

"Some Sweet Day"

Some sweet day, some sweet day
I'm gonna hold you like I want to
I'm gonna kiss you like I want to
I'm gonna love you like I need to
Some sweet day

Some sweet day, you will say
That you have started dreaming of me
That you love no-one else above me
I'll find a way to make you love me
Some sweet day

I hope it won't be long
Till I can take you and make you my very own
'Cause can't you see I get so tired
Of wishing and dreaming alone

Some sweet day, some sweet day
You'll get that twinkle in your eye, love
You're gonna look at me and sigh, love
And then you tell me that you're my love
Some sweet day

Some sweet day, some sweet day
You'll get that twinkle in your eye, love
You're gonna look at me and sigh, love
And then you tell me that you're my love
Some sweet day

"Spanish Main"

"Spanish Main"

I have a tale of deceit and anger
How love's young hope can twist bitterly
A girl who [?] and her handsome sailor
Their dreams of livin' across the sea

Amelia walked down along the harbor
Her dainty step on the cobbled street
She smiled too sweet at the handsome sailors
Till young guns laid, as she chanced to be

And he fell in love with her so completely
He could think of nothing for weeks to come
And one time held her, so indiscreetly
Her lips they parted in the setting sun

Now, I have to leave on the flagship Lester
For gold and honor I hope to gain
But you have my heart while the sea's in motion
And I am sailin' on the Spanish Main

If you will wait and attend the weather
My own intentions I will make plain
For us to wed and to sail together
And make our home across the Spanish Main

She held his hand like she'd held no other
And she gazed with longin' into his eyes
But her heart held tight to it's own dark secret
Which, if he knew it he would sure despise

For she given her love to her own landlord
In who's cabin she'd hoped to abide
And he'd seen her meet with this handsome sailor
Steal a kiss on the evening tide

And it burned like a fire inside him
And a towering rage now around him grew
He shouted up to the stormy heavens
He vowed he'd find them both and burn them through

He tracked them down where the ship was lying
The cold steel flashed with a glittering pain
Their arms and twines they lay still and dying
Cut short their promise of the Spanish Main
