"Thank You For Loving Me"

"Thank You For Loving Me"

From the bottom of my heart
Thank you for loving me
Thank you sweetheart.

Thank you for loving me
And for being what you are
Thank you for loving me
Thank you sweet heart.

Of all the hearts you've known
And could have chosen
The blessing of your love reminded me
And for me the door of love
Had long been closing
If not for you I'd still be searching
For my dream.

Thank you for loving me
From the bottom of my heart
Thank you for loving me
Thank you sweetheart.

Thank you for loving me
And for being what you are
Thank you for loving me
Thank you sweet heart...

"That's A Sad Affair"

"That's A Sad Affair"

I know a boy who knows a girl
She is so in love
She wants him for he's all the things
That she's been dreamin' of.

She wants to share a kiss with him
But he's too shy to dare
For he's just four and she's just three
And that's a sad affair.

Everytime she looks at him
With eyes so big and blue
He always looks the other way
And she don't know what to do.

For he is such a perfect doll
With blond and curly hair
But he's just four and she's just three
And that's a sad affair.

Soda pop and bubble gum
She brings him by the score
Lots of candy kisses too
He couldn't ask for more.

But he's a rough-tough cowboy
And for girls he just don't care
For he's just four and she's just three
And that's a sad affair.

[Instrumental]

She always follows him around
Next door and back again
If she can't be his lady fair
She'll be his indienne.

'Cause she just wants to be with him
No matter where or when
For he's her great big hero
And that's a sad affair.

She's given up her paper dolls
And now she totes a gun
'Cause that's the way he likes to play
So she pretends it's fun.

For him she'd do most anything
But he's so unaware
For he's just four and she's just three
And that's a sad affair.

When the rain comes pourin' down
And they must be apart
It doesn't bother him at all
But it almost breaks her heart.

She's just content to tag along
And hopes someday he'll care
But he's just four and she's just three
And that's a sad affair...

Yes, he's just four and she's just three
And that's a sad affair...

"The Banks Of My Own Lovely Lee"

"The Banks Of My Own Lovely Lee"

How oft do my thoughts in their fancy take flight
To the home of my childhood away
To the days when each patriot's vision seem'd bright
Ere I dreamed that those joys should decay.

When my heart was as light as the wild winds that blow
Down the Mardyke through each elm tree
Where I sported and play'd 'neath each green leafy shade
On the banks of my own lovely Lee.

Where I sported and play'd 'neath each green leafy shade
On the banks of my own lovely Lee.

And then in the springtime of laughterr and song
Can I ever forget the sweet hours?
With the friends of my youth as we rambled along
'Mongst the green mossy banks and wild flowers.

Then too, when the evening sun's sinking to rest
Sheds its golden light over the sea
The maid with her lover the wild daisies pressed
On the banks of my own lovely Lee.

The maid with her lover the wild daisies pressed
On the banks of my own lovely Lee...

"The Boys From Killybegs"

"The Boys From Killybegs"

There are wild and rocky hills on the coast of Donegal
And the fishermen are hearty, brave and free
And the big atlantic swell
Is a thing they know right well
As they fight to make their living from the sea

[Chorus:]
With a pleasant rolling sea and the herring running free
And our ships all gliding Gently through the foam
When the boats are loaded down
There'll be singing in the town
When the boys of killybegs come rollin home

Now you're headed out to sea and the wind is blowing free
And you cast your nets as rain begins to fall
And the clouds are riding high and the wind will soon blow by
And today you'll amybe get your bumper haul

[Chorus]

Well the weather's very rough and the work gets plenty touth
And the ropes will raise the welts upon your hands
But you'll never leave the sea
For whoever you may be
When it's in your blood it's hard to live on land

[Chorus]

Now there's purple on the hills and there's green down by the shore
And the sun has cast it's gold upon the sea
And there's silver down below where the herring fishes go
If we catch them there'll be gold for you and me

"The Carnival Is Over"

"The Carnival Is Over"

Say goodbye, my own true lover,
As we sing a lover's song.
How it breaks my heart to leave you;
Now the carnival is gone.
High above, the dawn is waking,
And my tears are falling rain,
For the carnival is over;
We may never meet again.

Like a drum my heart was beating,
And your kiss was sweet as wine.
But the joys of love are fleeting
For Pierrot and Columbine.

Now the harbour light is calling;
This will be our last goodbye.
Though the carnival is over,
I will love you till I die.

Like a drum my heart was beating,
And your kiss was sweet as wine.
But the joys of love are fleeting
For Pierrot and Columbine.

Now the harbour light is calling;
This will be our last goodbye.
Though the carnival is over,
I will love you till I die.

Though the carnival is over,
I will love you till I die.

"The Church In The Wildwood"

"The Church In The Wildwood"

There's a church in the valley by the wildwood
No lovelier place in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

Oh, come, come, come, come...
Come to the church in the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

How sweet, on a bright Sunday morning,
To listen to the clear-ringing bell;
It's tones so sweetly are calling:
Oh, come to the church in the dell.

Oh, come, come, come, come...
Come to the church in the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

Oh, come to the church in the wildwood
To the trees where the wild flowers bloom
Where the parting hymn will be chanted
We will weep by the side of the tomb

Oh, come, come, come, come...
Come to the church in the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

Brothers, now for the Savior let us rally,
Let us serve Him who never will fail;
"Gainst the foes of the truth let us sally
From the little brown church in the dale.

Oh, come, come, come...
Come to the church by the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

Far too long we have wandered after pleasures
And ignored the sweet plea of the Lord;
Let us strive for heavenly treasures-
Let us work for the blessed reward.

Oh, come, come, come...
Come to the church by the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

Let us offer ourselves anew to Jesus,
And the message of life gladly tell;
Let us cling to the Savior who frees us,
Let us love this bright spot in the dell.

Oh, come, come, come...
Come to the church by the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale;
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

"The Family Bible"

"The Family Bible"

There's a fam'ly bible on the table
Each page is torn and hard to read
But the fam'ly bible on the table
Will ever be my key to memories.

At the end of day when work was over
And when the evening meal was done
Dad would read to us from the fam'ly bible
And we'd count our many blessings one by one.

[Chorus:]
I can see us sittin' 'round the table
When from the fam'ly bible dad would read
I can hear my mother softly singing
Rock of ages, rock of ages cleft for me.

Now this old world of ours is filled with trouble
This old world would oh, so better be
If we'd found more bibles on the table
And mothers singing Rock of Ages cleft for me.

[Chorus:]
I can see us sittin' 'round the table
When from the fam'ly bible dad would read
I can hear my mother softly singing
Rock of Ages, Rock of Ages cleft for me...

"The Fields Of Athenry"

"The Fields Of Athenry"

By a lonely prison wall
I heard a young girl calling
Micheal they are taking you away
For you stole Trevelyn's corn
So the young might see the morn.
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay.

Low lie the Fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly.
Our love was on the wing we had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely 'round the Fields of Athenry.

By a lonely prison wall
I heard a young man calling
Nothing matter Mary when your free,
Against the Famine and the Crown
I rebelled they ran me down
Now you must raise our child with dignity.

Low lie the Fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly.
Our love was on the wing we had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely 'round the Fields of Athenry.

By a lonely harbor wall
She watched the last star falling
As that prison ship sailed out against the sky
Sure she'll wait and hope and pray
For her love in Botany Bay
It's so lonely 'round the Fields of Athenry.

Low lie the Fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly.
Our love was on the wing we had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely 'round the Fields of Athenry.

"The First Noel"

"The First Noel"

The first Noel, the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel

The second Noel, the babies did say
Was to snuggle and wait for the angels to rise
In the angels to rise if you're getting their sleep
On a settle in my arms and close your eyes

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel

"The Galway Shawl"

"The Galway Shawl"

At Oranmore in the County Galway,
One pleasant evening in the month of May,
I spied a damsel, she was young and handsome
Her beauty fairly took my breath away.

[Chorus:]
She wore no jewels, nor costly diamonds,
No paint or powder, no, none at all.
But she wore a bonnet with a ribbon on it
And round her shoulder was a Galway Shawl.

We kept on walking, she kept on talking,
'Till her father's cottage came into view.
Says she, "Come in, sir, and meet my father,
And for to please him play The Foggy Dew."

I played The Blackbird and The Stack of Barley
Rodney's Glory and The Foggy Dew
She sang each note like an Irish linnet.
And the tears stood in her eyes of blue.

[Chorus]

'Twas early, early, all in the morning,
I hit the road for old Donegal.
She said goodbye, sir, she smiled and kissed me,
And my heart remained with the Galway shawl.

[Chorus]

And round her shoulder was the Galway shawl...
