MathWorks MATLAB R2018b (Build Update 5 | 1.9 Gb
The MathWorks team is pleased to announce the availability of MATLAB R2018b (build Update 5. This update contains bug fixes to R2018b,including all the fixes from previous updates.

What's fixed in R2018b Update 5:

- Running certain web apps causes MATLAB Web App Server performance degradation
- Redrawing images or surfaces with texture mapping might slow down or crash your system
- cd command fails for NTFS paths/network drive letter paths having junctions
- readtable detects trailing empty fields on the first line of the file as text
- ImageDatastore returns an error when the last file in the Files property is deleted
- Axes toolbar is slow to appear or does not appear on direct hover
- 'makima' interpolation produces incorrect results with permuted grid coordinates and values.
- MATLAB does not honor the MATLAB proxy settings for a connection to dws.mathworks.com during startup
- Toolbox project files sometimes fail to open
- Error when opening App Designer app saved over a later release app
- svd can return invalid NaN values in the singular vectors of some rare matrices.
- svd might fail to converge when operating on complex-valued matrices

MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation.
Typical uses include:

- Math and computation
- Algorithm development
- Modeling, simulation, and prototyping
- Data analysis, exploration, and visualization
- Scientific and engineering graphics
- Application development, including Graphical User Interface building

MATLAB is an interactive system whose basic data element is an array that does not require dimensioning. This allows you to solve many technical computing problems, especially those with matrix and vector formulations, in a fraction of the time it would take to write a program in a scalar noninteractive language such as C or Fortran.

The name MATLAB stands for matrix laboratory. MATLAB was originally written to provide easy access to matrix software developed by the LINPACK and EISPACK projects, which together represent the state-of-the-art in software for matrix computation.

MATLAB has evolved over a period of years with input from many users. In university environments, it is the standard instructional tool for introductory and advanced courses in mathematics, engineering, and science. In industry, MATLAB is the tool of choice for high-productivity research, development, and analysis.
MATLAB features a family of application-specific solutions called toolboxes. Very important to most users of MATLAB, toolboxes allow you to learn and apply specialized technology. Toolboxes are comprehensive collections of MATLAB functions (M-files) that extend the MATLAB environment to solve particular classes of problems. Areas in which toolboxes are available include signal processing, control systems, neural networks, fuzzy logic, wavelets, simulation, and many others.

MathWorks is the leading developer of mathematical computing software. MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design for multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. Engineers and scientists worldwide rely on these product families to accelerate the pace of discovery, innovation, and development in automotive, aerospace, electronics, financial services, biotech-pharmaceutical, and other industries. MATLAB and Simulink are also fundamental teaching and research tools in the world's universities and learning institutions. Founded in 1984, MathWorks employs more than 3500 people in 15 countries, with headquarters in Natick, Massachusetts, USA.
